Medium red. Discreet, pure aromas of strawberry, raspberry, minerals and crushed stone, plus a hint of blood orange. Supple and moderately sweet, with good breadth and a slight cool edge of juicy acidity. There's plenty of density and sap here but this rather tight, old-viney wine is not yet open to inspection. Finishes with suave, fine-grained tannins. In a distinctly more sociable style than the 2008 but still in need of four or five years of aging.

Oaky sweetness on the nose, then dry and zesty on the palate. Tannins and acidity give an attractive edge that will certainly smooth out with time. Finishes dry and savoury. (JH)
Musky aromas of raspberry, stone, spices and flowers: very Chambolle. Silky on entry, then taut and stony in the middle and on the back end, with a subtle sweetness to the red fruit and mineral flavors. In its precision, suavity and structure, this is like a baby Musigny.
