1991 Qupé Syrah Central Coast

The wines of Bob Lindquist, the owner/winemaker of Qupe, continue to go from strength to strength. His current offerings are the best he has yet produced. This is a winery dedicated to the rich, bold personalities of Rhone Valley varietals. The three red wine cuvees I tasted all possess saturated deep ruby/purple colors. Velvety textured, rich, full-bodied wines, they reveal exceptional winemaking. The 1991 Syrah-Central Coast exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of cassis, herbs, and pepper, a rich, gorgeously fruity, viscous mid-palate, and a soft finish.
