Just mid ruby. A tiny bit reductive at this stage and a little herbal. Ripe, mouth-filling fruit with an attractive touch of creaminess lining the tannins on the finish. (WS)

This wine opens to a thin and streamlined appearance. The 2014 Brunello di Montalcino mirrors the main characteristics of the vintage with a clean mouthfeel and bright berry aromas. The Brunellos from 2014 are better suited to near or medium-term drinking and that's definitely the case with this wine. I'd suggest a pairing with your favorite pasta dish topped with creamy cheese sauce. Sangiovese has the natural acidity to cut through any fatty foods. This expression from Altesino achieves more fruit ripeness in 2014 with aromas of plum, dark cherry and dried cassis. Some 110,000 bottles were produced.
Very perfumed aromas of dark berries and hints of dried violets and orange peel. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a linear and fine finish. Fresh and lively. Drink now.
Mid autumnal ruby. Light nose with a suggestion of char. Tangily Sangiovese with some heat on the end. Far from intense but sufficiently well balanced. Clean – no hint of rot. Approachable. (JR)
