Note di degustazione
(all Wädenswil clone, aged in two-thirds new oak) Deep vivid red. Deep-pitched aromas of fresh boysenberry, cola, pungent flowers and sexy oak spices. Pliant and expansive on the palate, offering smoke-accented dark berry, cherry cola and licorice flavors complicated and energized by a hint of five-spice powder. Finishes sweet and pliant, showing repeating spiciness and a late note of bitter chocolate.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Block 7 is one of the first to be picked by Dick Shea and is the only 2013 from Shea that is over 14% alcohol. It has an aromatic bouquet with dark berry fruit, a faint sea-spray influence, truffle and touches of dried orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with a svelte texture, nicely judged acidity, layers of sappy red cherry and wild strawberry notes with a splash of balsamic towards the finish. This is a refined and elegant 2013 Pinot Noir from Shea Wine Cellar – just beautiful.
