Note di degustazione
Roy Estate's Soda Canyon vineyard contains a bit of Petit Verdot, and the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon includes 6% PV. It's a ripe, approachable wine with dark chocolate, loamy earth and black cherry notes, plus hints of vanilla and baking spices from spending 28 months in 100% new French oak (Taransaud). Full-bodied, soft and lush, it then finishes with just enough balancing acidity.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is stunning stuff and well worth seeking out, although there’s not much made. Giving up red, blue, and black fruits as well as notes of sappy herbs, coffee bean, and chocolate, it’s full-bodied, mouth-filling and structured, with nicely integrated acidity and tannins. It’s going to evolve gracefully for 20+ years.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, full-bodied wine that expresses the essence of the house style. Black cherry, gravel, scorched earth, tobacco and dark spices are all dialed up, giving the 2018 tons of power and concentration. This full-throttle, heady Cabernet is brimming with intensity. It was just bottled and needs time to come around, but it is quite promising.
