Punteggio 93/100 · The Wine Advocate, Aug 2020

The 2018 Petite Syrah Turley Estate opens with a top note of tar that unfolds to blueberries, cassis and aniseed. The full-bodied palate is brighter and fresher than expected, offering a fine tannic grain and lifted fruits, and it finishes long. (EB)

The 2017 Petite Syrah Turley Estate is another wine in this range that has really come together over the last year. Insanely savory, the 2017 is bold, inky and pungent, all while retaining the mid-weight structure that is typical of the year. Inky red and purplish fruit, spice, mint and blood orange meld into the rich, plush finish.

The 2017 Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge is laced with inky dark fruit, juniper berry, sage, mint and dried herbs, all of which give the Rattlesnake Ridge its super-distinctive Howell Mountain savoriness. In the glass, the 2017 is wild, exotic and incredibly alluring. (AG)

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2019-2029, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Mar 2019

The 2017 Petite Syrah Turley Estate has a very deep purple-black, opaque color with a nose of toasted coconut, exotic spices, dried violets, lilac and perfumed earth with black cherry pie and blue/black fruit jam notes. Full-bodied, it packs in the black and blue fruits, framed by very firm, very chewy tannins and just enough freshness on the finish. 675 cases produced.
