The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Acre was brought in at the end of September and aged in 90% new French oak. It's another clean, classy, balanced wine that has an elegant, ethereal style. Red and black currants, black raspberries, toasted spice, hints of tobacco, and cedar all emerge from the glass, followed by a medium-bodied red with a silky texture, good balance, and a great finish.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Three Acre is bright and perfumed, with striking top notes and tons of energy. Freshly cut flowers, mint, spice, cedar and new leather give the 2017 a real sense of aromatic lift and punch. This is a Cabernet that will benefit from a few years in bottle. In the early going, the Three Acre is very pretty, even if it comes across as a bit nervous in feel. That is likely the result of some blocked ripening in the estate's younger Cabernets.

Blended with 8% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Acre gives stewed plums, boysenberries and dried mulberries notes with touches of fresh figs, tobacco and dusty soil plus a waft of cinnamon. Full-bodied, very firm and chewy, the palate is tart, rustic and hard.

Cool and very pretty aromas and flavors with a bay-leaf undertone to the blueberry and blackcurrant character. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Pretty precision to this.
