Note di degustazione
Good bright medium ruby. Blackberry, cassis, black cherry and licorice on the very primary nose. At once silky and densely packed, with excellent depth to the black fruit, mineral and violet flavors. Shows much more middle-palate richness than the 2009 version. Finishes with suave, seamless tannins, a chocolatey oak component and great balance and length. This is excellent.

The rich, voluptuous side of the vintage comes through in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Home Vineyard. Hints of bitter chocolate, plums, smoke, licorice and menthol develop in the glass. Even with all of the rich fruit, there is plenty of underlying structure lurking beneath. Layers of aromas and flavors continue to build to the intense, palate-staining finish. This site, at the base of Spring Mountain, is notable for a warm micro-climate, that was a big help in getting the fruit to ripen fully in 2010.

This lineup from Beringer is full of highlights. The top Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings are terrific, but I am just as drawn to the entry and mid-tier offerings for their superb value and wide availability in the market. Tel. (707) 963-7115
