The 2022 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch is superb. Another wine that belies the heat of the year, the Rossi is so impressive. Silky tannins and lifted aromatics grace this mid-weight offering. Lavender, sage, mint and blue-toned fruit give the 2022 its exquisite, beguiling personality. This is such a great surprise.

The 2022 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch shows a much more complex and savory side. Coming from this exceptional vineyard, farmed organically by Phil Cotturi, it was aged in 16% new French oak barrels, and takes a deeper youthful red ruby hue, bringing forward a more assertive and woodsy profile with aromas of incense, sandalwood, black cherries, and menthol. Leaning toward full-bodied, it has a more broad-shouldered feel, with ripe tannins and a more expansive feel on the palate as well as an earth-noted finish. It deserves cellaring and is going to drink well over the next 10-12 years.
