Note di degustazione
The 2008 Vin Perdu bursts from the glass with dark red cherries, plums, violets, licorice and spices. All the elements come together beautifully in this dark, sumptuous wine. In 2008, the Vin Perdu is 44% Petit Verdot, 39% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot tannins provide the backbone, giving the wine tons of energy, vibrancy and pure length. This is a gorgeous wine. Frankly, in 2008 I prefer the Vin Perdu to the Amuse Bouche.

Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. Proprietor John Schwartz believes California is capable of making Merlots that can stand toe to toe with the best of France, so he is setting out to prove that point with the help of winemaker Heidi Barrett. Amuse Bouche is the main label. Vin Perdu is the second wine of Amuse Bouche, but the blend varies considerably from year to year, which naturally results in wines that are quite different from each other across several vintages.
