The 2019 Vosne-Romanée En Orveau 1er Cru is extremely reduced and eggy on the nose, precluding much in the way of terroir expression or Pinoté . The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannins and fine acidity—the reduction is far less present there. Quite sumptuous in style, with black and blue fruit, rather than red, and an iodine-tinged finish, this needs time to sort itself out. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
