2023 Reyneke Biodynamic Syrah

The 2023 Syrah includes 30% whole bunch and matured for 16 months in seasoned oak barrels, plus 2,500-litre foudre and used 400-litre barrels. This is nicely poised on the nose, unfurls with blackberry, briar, hints of garrigue and fennel. The palate is very well balanced with grainy tannins, beautifully balanced with gentle grip. There is just a touch of graphite mixed in with the cracked black pepper on the finish that lingers in the mouth. Very fine and sophisticated.
