Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2025-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Mar 2026

Perrot Minot and Gérard Mugneret also own vines in La Richemone. This was their first vintage from this superlative site. It initially seemed a little severe, even raw on the palate in a 2021 way, but a rather good beef tartare served at Celeste in Notting Hill made it taste much richer and broader. Even worth 17! But not for the long term. (JR)

The debut 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges La Richemone 1er Cru comprises two barrels this year, one new from their 0.9-hectare parcel, partly planted in 1924. It has a well-defined bouquet with delineated blackberry, raspberry coulis and undergrowth scents, very focused and (again) quite intense. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, harmonious, creamy in texture with an almost candied, sweet finish that belies the structure underneath. Very fine.

Another new cuvée, including some very old vines planted in 1924, is the 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru La Richemone, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and ample wine evocative of rose petals, wild berries, baking spices and dried herbs. With powdery tannins and succulent acids, it is quite strongly marked by the inclusion of some 70% whole clusters.

Vines from Perrot-Minot, planted in 1924. 2 hectares in total (4.9 acres), mid slope. 50% new oak. Cask sample . Mid cherry. Initially discrete, but opening with an intensely perfumed nose of incense, rose, violets and soft red fruits. Amplifies in the glass, blooming into something rather lovely. Subtle, then intense and complex. (MH)
