Light bricky red. Attractive sweet/savoury aroma, still red fruited but mixed with umami savour and sweet spice. Complex aroma of a wine just ready for drinking. Lightish on the palate and not very long, harmonious nevertheless. Probably not a long keeper. (JH)

The 2017 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Cuvée Maelie Rouge has an earthy and slightly fungal bouquet with fine definition. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and quite fleshy and generous, leading to a pure, charming finish. Lovely.
In tank. Two-year-old barrels. Lightish crimson. Finely textured, paper-fine tannins, delicate fruit. Light-bodied but harmonious. (JH)
The 2017 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Cuvée Maelie Rouge has a deep color. The bouquet needs a little coaxing but eventually reveals attractive brambly black fruit with a touch of briar. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity and good balance, though it calls out for more persistence on the finish.
