The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Argiliers has a fragrant bouquet with red cherries, damp earth and forest-floor scents. The palate is crisp and chalky with vibrant red cherries mixed with blackberry and a touch of mushroom, nicely balanced with a refined, easygoing Vosne-like finish. I would have just preferred more substance here, a bit more...drive.
