Tasted blind. Riper citrus fruit than on many of these dry Sauternes. A touch of botrytis-like orange character. Crisp acidity and a bit lean. Then some heat on the finish. (JH)

The 2020 Sigalas-Rabaud La Sémillante has slightly too much oak on the nose. It’s a bit generic, but there is nothing offensive here. The palate is medium-bodied with a honeyed opening and fine acidity, a richer take on the category, though it misses complexity and nuance. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
