2018 Gamble Family Sauvignon Blanc Heart Block

Fruit for the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Heart Block is drawn from the oldest vines (planted in 1998) in the Gamble's Yountville vineyard, consisting of two selections—Bordeaux-sourced material from Lou Preston and Hanna's Sauvignon Musqué. Despite being barrel fermented, undergoing full malolactic and spending 18 months in oak, this medium-bodied effort is more herbal and pungent than Gamble's regular bottling of Sauvignon Blanc, with notes of white currants and pineapple and bracing lime-like acids that linger on the finish. Just about 600 cases were produced of this gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc.
