Note di degustazione
The 2004 Norte has a Medoc-like nose with dusty red fruit, tobacco and spearmint. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins but a little hollow in the middle where the fruit should be, while the finish is quite austere. Drink now.

As a 14 yr old Carlos Pujanza was given 3 ha to plant because he didn’t like school and 40% of this wine, from the northernmost estate in Rioja Alvesa, comes from these teenage plantings. Complex and lively with real spine and refreshment. Pretty attention grabbing – an interesting new string to rioja’s bow. Some almost Nebbiolo-like tar and acidity facets to it. (JR)
Bright ruby. Exotic, intensely perfumed nose offers red and dark berries, baking spices, vanilla and fruitcake. On the palate, the juicy and suave raspberry and cherry flavors are joined by more pungent notes of licorice and mocha and framed by fine-grained tannins. Finishes supple, sweet and long, with impressive complexity and focus.
