Bright crimson. Less obviously expressive on the nose than the Sondraia 2013. Pretty sharp and demanding, Lots of oak in evidence. Dramatic but not that pleasurable. (JR)

A powerful, intense wine, the estate's 100% Cabernet Franc Dedicato a Walter offers plenty of depth to match its soft contours, but the varietal character of Franc that can be so compelling at Poggio al Tesoro is missing.
Here is another wine that is now upgraded to Bolgheri Superiore status from IGT Toscana. The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Dedicato A Walter (100% Cabernet Franc) shows bold varietal characteristics with dark fruit, spice, coffee bean, rosemary oil and balsam herb. All those aromas are rolled together into a great tapestry of luscious intensity. This wine promises a careful and slow evolution over the next decade.
