The 2017 Chardonnay is bold, luscious and absolutely delicious. Tangerine oil, passion fruit, butter notes and exotic flowers all develop in a Chardonnay that nicely balances mountain structure, acidity and the natural viscosity of Wente-clone Chardonnay. As it often is, the Vineyard 7 & 8 in this vintage is one of the most distinctive Chardonnays in Napa Valley.

The 2017 Chardonnay Estate gives up apple pie, spiced pears and honeydew melon with touches of cedar, toasted cashews, honeycomb, allspice and ginger. Full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it has a creamy texture and long, toasty finish.
The 2017 Chardonnay Estate has much more of a tropical profile and greater textural unctuousness than the 2016 tasted alongside it. Even so, the wine has plenty of structure and freshness. Expressive floral notes add an exotic flourish to this super-expressive Chardonnay.
