The 2020 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is a little more fruit-driven, with pretty lemon, honeyed pear, and floral notes as well as a touch of background minerality and oak. It too is balanced, medium-bodied, and just a beautiful example of California Chardonnay.

The 2020 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is a blend of Drew, Toyon and Brown, a combination that works beautifully in balancing the energy of Mt. Veeder and the texture of Carneros. Orchard fruit, lemon confit and a kick of new French oak builds into the open-knit, expressive finish. This is a fine showing for the year.
Fresh and fine aromas of lemon curd, pineapple, brioche and cream pastries. Zesty and briny on the medium-bodied palate, with subtle creaminess to the slightly grippy finish. Drink or hold.
Riper and more flamboyant than the Toyon bottling, the 2020 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard offers up notes of ripe peach, guava and pineapple on the nose. Yes, it's barrel fermented in French oak (30% new, 70% second-fill), but the oak is in the background, letting the ripe fruit shine. Medium to full-bodied, this is generous but balanced, with bright acids leading into a long, refreshing finish.
