The 2011 Charmes-Chambertin is seriously deeply beautiful and expressive. Dark red berries, flowers, spices, mint and licorice all wrap around the palate in this rich, textured wine. The 2011 Charmes expresses the best qualities of the year. A long, round finish rounds things out in style. This is pure elegance and sophistication.

A distinctly toasty nose of pungently earthy dark berries, game and underbrush scents gives way to lush and very round medium weight flavors that possess good energy and solid intensity. This is a robust and muscular Charmes that delivers fine length though note that the firm tannins will require 10 to 12 years to fully resolve.
