This blend of shiraz and mataró from Barossan winemaker Peter Schell shows deep, broody aromas of satsumas, plums, black cherries and blackberry fruits along with hints of graphite, roasting game, "Old Jamaican" chocolate, bay leaves, garrigue, black pepper and exotic spices. Savory and finely honed on the palate with great fruit density, meaty facets, Asian spices, graphite and a scaffolding of beautifully sandy tannins that flow through the wine. Long of finish, and well composed, this is rich yet fresh and restrained. A superb wine offering amazing value. Drink now.
