The 2008 Zinfandel shows excellent depth in its sweet red cherries flowers and licorice. This is a subdued style of Zinfandel, yet the wine's overall balance is quite good. The blend incorporates 16% Petite Sirah.

Deep, saturated ruby. Black and blue fruits on the nose, with complicating notes of vanillin oak, mocha, anise and baking spices. Sappy, expansive and deep in blackberry and boysenberry flavor, with supple tannins adding shape. Tannins sneak in on the finish, which leaves sweet vanilla and blueberry notes behind. This very extroverted zinfandel would work well with strong cheeses, especially blues.
