Full bottle 1,550 g. Cool maceration for 7 days. Spontaneously fermented in open-top tanks, with punchdowns and pumpovers. Racked to French oak barrels for malolactic conversion and aged there for 18–20 months. RS 1.9 g/l, free SO 2 27 mg/l, total SO 2 88 mg/l. Blackish purple! A little reduced? But then there is very fine, fine-boned, very ripe Syrah. In a Chilean context, this is superb. But it’s pretty tight and I wouldn’t mind just a little more ripeness. (JR)

The 2021 Syrah EQ Cool Climate hails from the Rosario Vineyard in San Antonio. Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, this purple wine presents aromas of white pepper and blackberry, intertwined with fleshy notes of black olive and balsamic tones.
