Here too the nose is attractively perfumed with its array of various red berries, anise, spice, violet and sauvage whiffs. The supple, delicious and mouth coating big-bodied flavors contrast with the markedly tannic and muscular finish that flashes focused power and excellent persistence. Patience required. From 2035+

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Fairly simple, sweet, flattering nose. Dry finish. Still embryonic but with good grip. Not that concentrated at the moment. (JR)
The 2020 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is 12 % whole bunch this year. It has a very marine-influenced bouquet with hints of black olive infusing the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, concentrated with pure redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit with fine mineralité towards the finish. Denser than the Mazoyères, but maybe without quite the thrilling delineation.
