The other wines are worth checking out as they are sensational efforts, but their production is so tiny, few readers will ever see them.. I am only providing tasting notes for the Arnot-Roberts cuvees for which there are more than 100 cases, which includes the Syrah Hudson Vineyard (220 cases) and Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard (150 cases). Inky violet color. Pungent bouquet of smoky blackcurrant, candied cherry, licorice, tobacco and mocha. Supple and pliant, offering sharply focused dark berry preserve and kirsch flavors, velvety tannins and good mineral snap. Combines richness and energy with a deft hand and finishes with outstanding clarity and grip. Give this suave youngster some cellar time.
