The other wines are worth checking out as they are sensational efforts, but their production is so tiny, few readers will ever see them.. I am only providing tasting notes for the Arnot-Roberts cuvees for which there are more than 100 cases, which includes the Syrah Hudson Vineyard (220 cases) and Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard (150 cases). (includes a dash of petit verdot) Saturated ruby. Spicy, vividly perfumed aromas of blackcurrant, cherry compote, cured tobacco and lavender. Spicy dark berry flavors offer impressive clarity and depth, with supple tannins adding structure. Fleshes out with air, finishing sweet, broad and long. The spiciness lingers impressively, as does the blackcurrant quality. I'd bet on this improving with a few years in the cellar.
