Super-ripe black cherry, plum, crème de cassis, chocolate and sweet spice notes run through the 2015 Proprietary Red. A pliant, inviting wine, the 2015 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Today, the 2015 is a touch compact, especially next to the very best years, perhaps a reflection of its recent bottling a few months ago.

Composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%) with smaller parts of Merlot (21%) and Petit Verdot (15%), the 2015 Proprietary Red Estate gives a deep garnet-purple color and nose of crushed blackberries and warm black cherries with touches of Provence herbs, charcuterie and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers up expressive red and black fruit preserves with appealing herbal and savory accents, framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing on a minty note. 614 cases produced.
The 2015 Proprietary Red is dark, inky and powerful, which is to say very much in the style of the year. Inky blue and purplish fruit, sweet spices, chocolate, menthol, licorice and plums infuse the deep, intense finish.
