Note di degustazione
The 1998 Brut Cuvée Palmes d'Or is a sexy drink. While not a blockbuster, the wine reveals an engaging, harmonious personality. The open, inviting bouquet leads to an expressive, generous core of fruit with pretty notes of early tertiary character that add complexity. Brioche, hazelnuts, dried pears and dried apricots linger on a long, beautifully articulated finish. No disgorgement date available

(L037766) Vivid gold with a steady bead. Honey, pear and buttered toast on the nose, with a slow-building floral quality. Lush, palate-coating orchard and pit fruit flavors are braced by gentle minerality and complemented by a note of smoky lees. On the rich side, but with good finishing grip and sweet persistence. I'd drink this over the next few years as it appears fully mature.
The estate's 1998 Brut Palmes d'Or is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, mostly from grand cru vineyards. The wine offers up lovely notes of smoke, toastiness and minerals that add complexity to the wine's delicate fruit. This medium-bodied offering shows outstanding length in an elegant, understated style. This is Lot L 22112, disgorged on November 8th, 2007.
