Deep garnet colored, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve delivers loads of subtle, savory nuances of bouquet garni, smoked meats, dried wild mushrooms and yeast extract over a core of warm cassis and prunes plus a waft of Ceylon tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm line of rugged tannins and just enough freshness supporting the muscular, savory flavors, finishing with a dried herbs lift.

Bright, saturated ruby. Brooding, slightly stunted, medicinal aromas of kirsch , dark berries, bitter chocolate, licorice and violet. Then surprisingly supple, smooth and sweet in the mouth, with a pliancy that gives it considerable immediate appeal. The mouthfilling dark fruit and violet flavors show moderate nuance but very good depth. Has the mid-palate stuffing to support its ripe, dusty tannins, which gained in strength as the wine opened in the glass. Still, this is a rather easygoing Cabernet with very good length.
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts serious depth, power and richness. Super-ripe plums, black cherries, raspberry jam, mocha, bitter chocolate and cloves are all layered together beautifully in this seamless, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. A juicy, pliant finish rounds things out nicely. The Reserve can be enjoyed today, but it also clearly has the stuffing to develop nicely for a number of years.
