2021 Harmonie

The 2021 Harmonie is a blend of 72% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre and 12% Syrah. It has layered scents of redcurrant, blueberry, lavender, tobacco leaves, mushrooms and graphite, striking a fine balance between youthful fruit and savory character. The medium-bodied palate has layered flavors that run the gamut from red berry to earth and flowers and boasts Goldilocks ripeness. It has an elegant structure of velvety tannins, fireworks of fresh acidity and a long, nuanced finish. It will age gracefully in the cellar over the next 10-15 years.

72% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre, 12% Syrah, from estate vineyards, G2, Paperstreet and L’Aventure. Aged in 400-litre French oak (12% new) for 16 months. 850 cases produced. Tasted blind. Deep purple. Tart blackberries and yogurt on the nose. On the palate the fruit quality is sweet. High, gum-climbing tannin and moderate acidity. Bit of a hole on the mid palate. (SCJ)

A stunning minerality adds a crunchy sensation to its ripe wild berry fruits. It finishes lightly structured, with tantalizing acidity maintaining freshness, as a saturation of primary concentration adds a youthful tension.
