The 2016 Chardonnay Estate is a serious effort that will give a Grand Cru White Burgundy a run for its money. Offering a medium gold color, smoking notes of lemon curd, pineapple, spring flowers, and a honeyed minerality, beautifully integrated oak, and a great, layered texture, drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years. I suspect it will age even longer.
Staglin's 2016 Chardonnay is absolutely gorgeous. Fermentation and aging in barrel yields a wine of notable distinction and class. Lemon confit, white flowers, apricot, mint and tangerine are all nicely pushed forward in this succulent, super-expressive Chardonnay. Winemaker Fredrik Johansson has done a brilliant job with the 2016. Don't miss it.
The 2016 Chardonnay has a wonderfully expressive tropical fruit nose, offering notes of pineapple, green mango and fresh grapefruit plus hints of honeyed toast, orange blossoms and nutmeg. Medium-bodied, soft, refreshing and approachable at this youthful stage, it has a lovely spiciness contributing to the depth on the finish.
