Note di degustazione
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru was showing a heavy reduction on the nose that masks what feels like a lot of dark berry fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins. Quite a bold Chambolle with ample weight and girth, grippy with some wood tannins on the finish. It just lacks a bit of finesse. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

One of the highpoints of the range is the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries, baking chocolate, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, it's elegantly muscular, with fine concentration, powdery tannins and a penetrating finish. This will need some time, but it possesses both the balance and structure to develop with grace.
Deep glowing purplish crimson. A hint of smoky reduction at the moment but still bags of rich dark-red fruit and a hint of peony and pepper. The tannins are fabulous: super-fine and very dry. Great precision and purity here. And persistence. GV in this context. (JH)
