The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon wraps around the palate with serious depth and power. Rich, intense and beautifully layered, the 2009 is pure sensuality in the glass. Hints of mocha and sweet spices add complexity to the dark, resonant fruit. Ideally, the 2009 needs a few years for the tannins to melt away, but it is undoubtedly quite striking even today. This is a dazzling effort from Steve McPherson.

Promise emerges from a plot in Rich Frank’s Winston Hill vineyard in Rutherford. The wine spends about 30 months in new French oak barrels.
