1999 Contino Graciano Rioja

Bright ruby-red. High-pitched, slightly medicinal aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice and spice. Tightly wound and on the lean side, with black fruit flavors somewhat dried by oak. A rather austere wine that shows both medicinal and candied notes. Very youthfully unevolved and difficult to judge today.
