Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2027-2035, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2025

Also contains some Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. From Yountville, Rutherford and with a little Carneros Cabernet Franc. Their biggest-selling red wine, which they re-release at 10 years old. What a good idea! I found the wine a bit inky and unyielding currently for my taste. (JR)

Cassis, darker berries, graphite, and a kiss of smoked tobacco all emerge from the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, a nicely concentrated, medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has the vintage's pure, focused, beautifully balanced style. It should evolve nicely for at least 10-12 years, if not longer. It's easily the finest vintage of this cuvée I've tasted and should be snatched up by savvy readers.

Full bottle 1,168 g. 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc grown organically though CCOF is the only certification on the back label of this producer’s wines. Aged for 20 months in French oak. 18,000 cases produced. Mid crimson. Sweetish, direct nose with a medium charge of tannin. Very straightforward easy drinking for the early to medium term. (JR)

The Grgich Hills 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown offers up hallmark notes of cassis, faint herbal streaks and dusty earth. It's only medium-bodied and classically proportioned—a bit of a throwback in style—with silky, refined tannins and a lingering finish.
