2022 Merryvale Profile

The flagship here, the 2022 Profile is based on 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc from Profile Estate Vineyard and aged 20 months in 80% new French oak. Deep ruby-hued, it offers outstanding aromatics of currants, tobacco, cedarwood, and leather. Medium-bodied and focused on the palate, with firm tannins, good concentration, and solid balance, it comes together nicely with air. It has a beautiful sense of elegance and is well-balanced despite those firm tannins. I suspect it will evolve nicely over the coming 10-15 years, which is a solid showing for a 2022. Drink 2025-2040.
