Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard gives up gloriously intense notes of baked cherries, stewed plums and blueberry compote with touches of underbrush, tilled soil, black tea, tobacco and rose hips. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited in the mouth, it has a firm, grainy frame and a lively backbone, finishing very long and incredibly layered. 250 cases produced.

The 2016 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard shows all the power and virile intensity that are such signatures of this site. Leather, spice, tobacco and menthol wrap around a core of dark fruit. Deeply layered and potent, the 2016 is going to need at least a few years to soften. Even in the early going, though, the Bedrock is impressive.
