Dee p ruby-red. Very ripe, expressive aromas of black cherry and roasted meat. Large-scaled, brooding wine, currently showing more richness and personality than the Clos Prieur. Concentrated flavors of black cherry, dark berries, flowers, spices and licorice. Finishes with impressive persistence for a village wine, with the firm tannins nicely supported by strong fruit.

Medium ruby. Pure, subdued aromas of blackberry and violet; less meaty than the Clos Prieur. Juicy, pure and tight; leaner and more vertical than the Clos Prieur. Distinctly minerally in character; this could hardly be more different from the last sample. Finishes firmly tannic but the tannins are round and not dry.
