The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens Vineyard is soft, fruity and easygoing, all of which will make it easy to enjoy young. Silky and perfumed, the 2016 is a decidedly delicate, Cabernet for Calistoga, where the wines are usually quite a bit more potent.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens gives up warm plums, black cherries and dark chocolate notes with touches of wild sage and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is plush and juicy with a spicy kick on the finish. 220 cases produced, to be released in February 2019.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens offers a bit more power and structural depth than the 2015 tasted alongside it. Black cherry, plum, new leather, menthol and spice give the 2016 its distinctive, baritone personality. There is quite a bit of density in the glass. I am intrigued to see where this goes over the coming year as it finishes up its aging.
