Note di degustazione
Bright, full ruby-red with a deep core. Vibrant, mineral-driven aromas of cassis, licorice and violet. Chewy, rich and dry in a Bordeaux way, displaying youthful flavors of dark berries, licorice, tobacco and minerals, with the strong licorice root element carrying through on the palate. Finishes with strong, building, dusty tannins that are plusher than those of the Calluna Estate blend, a testament to the success of Cabernet Sauvignon in this site. This tactile, complete wine reminded me of a Saint-Emilion--and there's still more to come. (14.1% alcohol)

Bright, deep ruby. Dark aromas of black cherry and licorice. Sweet, layered and lush on entry, then tighter in the middle, offering intense dark berry, licorice and tobacco flavors. Leanish in an Old World way and not yet showing its inherent complexity, this seriously structured wine will need time to absorb its substantial toothcoating tannins. A serious cabernet for the cellar, and a distinct step up from the 2008 version.
