100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark crimson. Lightly minty nose and then rather sweet pinched fruit on the palate. A little timid but decent enough even if a little drying on the end. (JR)

The star of the show is clearly the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon which has everything you could want from a Mountain Cabernet. Cassis, blueberries, violets, leafy herbs, and graphite notes all emerge from this full-bodied, concentrated, yet plush, forward, incredibly sexy 2014. With no hard edges, impeccable balance, and a great finish, drink this beauty anytime over the coming 15+ years.
I tasted through the 2014s, which are not yet in bottle, but here are some brief tasting notes for readers. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is soft, fruity and delicious, but not quite as concentrated as the 2013.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is the most reticent of these wines from Mt. Brave. Powerful, explosive and tightly wound, the Cabernet offers notable intensity and plenty of depth. Readers should expect to cellar the 2014 for at least a few years. This is one of the better relative values among the high end wines in the Jackson portfolio. Hints of lavender, espresso and bittersweet chocolate round out the nuanced finish.
