Lastly, the flagship is the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon M5, which comes all from the Stagecoach Vineyard in Pritchard Hill. This is another ripe, pedal-to-the-metal, incredibly sexy wine from this estate. It sports an opaque purple color as well as a monster bouquet of ripe blueberries, blackberries, licorice, spicy oak, and chocolate. With a rich, full-bodied, expansive style on the palate, it has ripe, velvety tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. This is another wine that puts its foot firmly on the ripeness pedal yet holds onto a notable sense of freshness and balance. It’s already approachable today yet, I suspect, will evolve gracefully for 15+ years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 is a big wine. Layers of inky red/purplish fruit saturate the palate as this plush, opulent wine shows off its personality. There is plenty of tannin, but also more than enough fruit to stand up to that heft.
The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 sashays out of the glass with gorgeous scents of plum preserves, blueberry compote and blackcurrant cordial with touches of tar, coffee beans, cracked black pepper and licorice. The full-bodied palate is jam-packed with ripe, rich black fruit preserves flavors and lots of spicy sparks, framed by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and hedonic.
