A fleshy, opulent, textured Pomerol that stays nicely balanced and pure, the 2020 Château Tour Maillet (Lagardère) reveals a deep ruby/purple hue, lots of ripe red and blue fruits, classic notes of loamy earth, iron, tobacco, and violets, and outstanding length on the finish. I like it today yet see no reason it shouldn't evolve for 10-15 years if properly stored.

The 2020 Tour Maillet has a nicely composed nose, quite opulent but retaining freshness. Ditto the palate, which is well balanced with fine depth, and a pleasing countervailing bitter note lending edge to the finish. This is a finely crafted Pomerol that should age well in bottle.
The 2020 Tour Maillet (Lagardère) is a big, heady wine. Super-ripe dark red fruit, espresso, chocolate, spice and sweet French oak infuse this plush, voluptuous Pomerol with a good bit of nuance. This is an especially opulent, flamboyant Pomerol packed with ripe fruit and copious new oak, and yet all the elements are very well put together.
The 2020 Tour Maillet (Lagardère) is a powerful, muscular wine. Blackberry, chocolate, espresso, cloves and firm, incisive tannins give the wine quite a bit of power and brooding intensity. This deceptively midweight Pomerol packs plenty of punch. Give it a few years to soften.
