Bright violet. Sexy, high-pitched dark berry, floral pastille, allspice and incense aromas show outstanding clarity. Juicy, concentrated and pure, displaying superb focus and verve to the mineral-laced blackberry, bitter cherry and candled violet flavors. Shows very impressive depth but comes off lively, almost shockingly so. The mineral element adds lift and precision to a wonderfully long, subtly tannic finish that repeats the floral and dark berry notes.

Comprised of 78% Zinfandel, 10% Mourvèdre, 7% Syrah and 5% Tempranillo, the 2015 The Outsider has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and nose of raspberry tart, kirsch and stewed plums with touches of Indian spices, licorice, charcoal and bay leaves. Full-bodied with tons of berry preserves and exotic spice flavors, it has a chewy backbone and lovely earthy finish.
