Note di degustazione
Shimmering ruby. Ripe cherry and dark berries, pungent flowers, mocha and a hint of smoky minerals on the perfumed nose. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors supported by an undercurrent of zesty acidity. Picks up licorice and cola notes with air and finishes long, spicy and smooth, with velvety tannins coming in late. 19% whole clusters and 20% new French oak.

Lingua Franca's least expensive Pinot, a blend of wines from various different vineyards. Dark garnet. Prettily perfumed – almost floral. Just the sort of wine you would lap up in a wine bar with masses of Pinot fruit but obviously quite a bit of extraction. No fast-fading flower. Surprisingly ambitious, with some fairly firm tannins, for an entry-level wine. (JR)
