2009 Grgich Hills Violetta Late Harvest

(a blend based on sauvignon blanc and riesling; 14.1% alcohol, 119 g/l r.s.): High-toned aromas and flavors of orange, sauteed pineapple, almond, honey and toffee. Not quite opulent but slightly viscous and a bit warm, in need of a bit more definition and fruit intensity. I find this somewhat aggressive today, with a honeycomb finish that shows a phenolic roughness.
