2007 Viña Santa Carolina Carménère Reserva de Familia

Inky ruby. Exotic perfume of dark berries, potpourri and spicecake, with a hint of smoke. Spicy cherry and black raspberry flavors are given spine by zesty minerality and framed by chewy tannins. Tightens up with air and finishes with good grip and lingering spiciness.

(includes 5% petit verdot) Opaque ruby. Smoked meat and singed cherries on the nose, with subtle notes of roasted coffee and tobacco. A brooding, deeply concentrated wine, with chewy texture and liqueur-like dark fruit flavors. Becomes livelier with air and finishes with solid grip and good persistence.
