The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a very pretty wine. This forward, fruit-driven Brunello offers considerable near and medium-term appeal. Sweet dark cherries, spices, new leather, cedar and vanillin add nuance on the supple, persistent finish. All the elements come together in an effortless, juicy Brunello from Fanti. This is very nicely done.

The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and well-saturated wine that puts on a very nice show. It shows immediate fruit and spice and delivers these characteristics in a very direct and matter-of-fact manner. This is a proud Brunello with no hidden messages or meanings. It portrays the grape with honesty, placing emphasis on freshness and silkiness of tannins. Sweet cherry and cinnamon make for cheerful end notes.
Concentrated mid ruby with orange tinges. Dark and a little brooding and with bags of sweet fruit on the palate. Seems ready now, except for the big load of tannins on the finish. (WS)
